In 2015, following a meeting between the town council of Petralia Sottana, the principal local musical entities and different teachers of marked international fame, the annual project - Accademia Internazionale Estiva Strumenti ad Arco "Suoni delle Madonie".

(The International Summer School for strings "Sounds of the Madonie mountains")  was born in Petralia Sottana. Important interpreters, concert soloists and teachers of international fame will hold daily Masterclasses for both elementary and advanced students.

The objective of the project is to create, in a stimulating cosmopolitan environment, an important occasion of growth and refinement for young musicians who, frequenting the Campus, could combine, with concentrated study (intense daily lessons and personal training), a profoundly relaxing rest in the heart of the Madonie mountains, with the opportunity of discovering the naturalistic, historical and cultural treasures of this part of Sicily. Young musicians of every nationality and culture would come to meet in the name of art and nature.
